About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify relevant local topics and present them creatively and incisively
- Cover topics in a variety of formats, including reports, commentaries, op-eds, listicles, and interviews
- Maintain an active presence in Saxony and build familiarity with diverse communities
- Contribute to the editorial team’s ongoing development through ideas, initiatives, and constructive criticism

Requirements
What you’ll need- Passion for topics and stories from eastern Germany
- Openness to listening and giving visibility to voices that are often overlooked
- Excellent command of language and a genuine enjoyment of writing
- Reliable, structured approach to work, flexibility, and curiosity about new formats
- Very good German language skills; additional language skills are a plus
- Ideally, initial experience with digital tools, social media, or research methods
- Confident use of AI tools, including Claude and Gemini, for research, content creation, and SEO
- Experience with targeted prompting
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
