About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply systems engineering principles to translate customer needs and requirements into effective solutions
- Contribute to the development and refinement of requirement specifications with cross-functional teams
- Develop systems solutions using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Trade Studies
- Support plans and artefacts for Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA) activities
- Manage technical baselines, including requirements, performance measures, solution definitions, configuration and change control
- Develop and maintain systems engineering artefacts such as management plans, schedules and reports
- Contribute to technical management and governance activities, including metrics, reporting, team tasking and risk/issue/opportunity management
- Prepare structured inputs for customer representatives and global partners
- Support senior team members in customer engagement activities
- Apply and tailor engineering initiatives, best practices and quality processes
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Contribute to innovative services and solutions for Boeing Defence UK customers across Fixed Wing, Vertical Lift and Digital business areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain SC level clearance
- Applied experience across some or all elements of Systems Engineering, including requirements management, interface management, systems architecture, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), integration of specialist disciplines, and Verification & Validation (V&V)
- Exposure to MBSE methods and modelling tools such as Dassault Systèmes Magic Systems of Systems Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, or similar
- Ability to apply structured modelling approaches to requirements development, system architecture definition, verification planning, and functional, logical and physical system models
- Willingness and capability to further develop MBSE knowledge and modelling skills
- Exposure to Command, Control, Communications and Information (C3I) systems, governance and change management activities
- Experience using IBM DOORS or similar requirements management tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive and adaptable approach with resilience to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively in writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business IT applications
- Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
- Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense
- Preferred: customer and wider stakeholder management experience
- Preferred: experience in C4ISTAR, Air Platforms, Mission Systems, Communications Systems and Networks, Training Systems and Training Related Technology
- Preferred: experience designing or specifying through-life support services and solutions for military platforms
