Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate emerging alternative-data vendors and data products for US Card credit decisioning
- Engineer high-impact features
- Build scalable data processing and monitoring systems
- Serve as the dedicated data domain expert guiding dataset applications
- Navigate risk governance for vendor models
- Build challenger models using new data to enhance existing models
- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers
- Use Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and other technologies to analyze numeric and textual data
- Build machine learning models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
- Translate complex data science work into tangible business goals
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and stay current with state-of-the-art methods
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 5 years of experience performing data analytics, or Master's degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of experience performing data analytics, or PhD in a quantitative field
- Required degree must be obtained on or before the scheduled start date
- Experience with data analytics
- At least 1 year of experience working with AWS
- At least 3 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R
- At least 3 years’ experience with machine learning
- At least 3 years’ experience with SQL
- Hands-on experience developing data science solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms
- Experience with statistical modeling, model validation, and backtesting
- Knowledge of confusion matrices, ROC curves, clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning
- Ability to retrieve, combine, and analyze data from varied sources and structures
