Key responsibilities & impact- Own the technical sales process from introductory meetings through post-sales, including customer satisfaction, upselling and subscription renewals
- Support customers’ technical needs and discover new use cases for Cloudera technology
- Design customer solutions using Cloudera technologies, reference architectures and common patterns
- Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customer adoption
- Partner with Account Managers to show the value of Cloudera solutions and drive successful sales
- Present product roadmap and vision
- Interface with Cloudera teams to ensure customers hear one Cloudera voice
- Advocate for customer needs to Product Management and Engineering
- Participate in external publicity and evangelism, including conferences, meetups, webinars and blogs
- Contribute to team sales targets and knowledge exchange with peers and the wider community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a technical sales context
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Experience across the entire lifecycle from gathering and understanding business requirements through design, technology evaluation, pilot program, implementation, production maintenance and support
- Confidence working with customers and public speaking on Cloudera’s vision, proposed architectures and business outcomes to all levels
- Ability to be technically hands-on and have a problem-solving personality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Big Data, Data Warehousing or Relational Databases
- Knowledge of the Cloudera Data Platform and Hadoop ecosystem is a plus
- Experience with one or more of AWS, Azure or GCP; certification is a plus
- Practical experience with the full data lifecycle from data ingestion to data engineering, data warehouse, operational data store, data science and machine learning
- Knowledge of Operations, Infosec and Data Governance within an enterprise adopting a hybrid cloud approach
- Unix/Linux expertise including solid OS and networking fundamentals
- Foundational experience with Java/OO programming, Python or other scripting languages
- Experience with Spark, Kafka, Flink, Hive, Impala and other open source projects
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Foundational experience with DevOps or MLOps
