Requirements
What you’ll need- High school or equivalent (GED) or one years related experience and/or training.
- Certification required within 2 years of hire: International Association for Health Care Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Central Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT).
- Experience as a Central Sterile Technician or related field preferred.
- Ability to follow manufacturer guidelines for steam and low temperature sterilization.
- Ability to follow manufacturer instructions for decontamination and disinfection of instrumentation and flexible endoscopes.
- Knowledge of surgical instrument kit and case cart inspection and assembly.
- Adherence to OSC CSS policies, work instructions, and AAMI guidelines.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, or push/pull up to 10 pounds; frequently handle 10–25 pounds; and occasionally handle 20–50 pounds.
- Ability to perform fine motor activities and frequently bend, perform repetitive motion, reach, stand, and walk.
- Ability to work around bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, contaminants, chemicals, radiation, and other listed workplace hazards.
