About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Energy-as-a-Service projects focused on HVAC system optimization, operational performance, and verification of energy savings
- Evaluate existing building automation system architecture
- Troubleshoot system performance issues
- Deploy advanced HVAC sequences of operation across air and hydronic systems
- Perform site assessments, documentation reviews, and due diligence activities
- Analyze trend data
- Develop and modify DDC logic
- Validate sequence implementation
- Participate in commissioning and retro-commissioning efforts
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and modify BAS programming to implement energy conservation measures
- Use test instrumentation to troubleshoot, verify, and optimize building system operation
- Monitor energy performance throughout project delivery
- Collaborate with engineering, commissioning, and project teams to meet performance targets
- Identify, communicate, escalate, and help resolve scope or performance gaps
- Propose and track implementation of corrective solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls, design, energy management, or relevant fields
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to interact professionally with owners, owner’s representatives, contractors, engineers, and architects while driving project outcomes
- Knowledge of commercial MEP equipment design and operations
- Understanding of DDC controls
- Familiarity with building automation systems software
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to travel 30–40% of the time
- Ability to perform office and construction-site work, including accessing elevated, restricted, or confined spaces
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
