About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead safe, efficient, and timely commissioning, trial runs, and acceptance testing of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants
- Perform pre-checks, system energization, and network verification across devices and subsystems
- Supervise and execute loop checks, functional tests, and protection testing with rigorous documentation and operational log standards
- Manage system turnovers from installation through commissioning to final customer handover
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues
- Review control logic against engineering design documents
- Implement HMI screen modifications and alarm configurations
- Implement and enforce EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety walks, and subcontractor compliance monitoring
- Ensure commissioning activities adhere to site safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Deliver technical feedback and detailed site reports to engineering and project teams
- Manage commissioning test equipment inventory, including inspection, usage tracking, and timely return
- Contribute to lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs across the commissioning organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Willingness and ability to travel for long-term field assignments (up to 100%) across the United States and internationally
- Deep intellectual curiosity with a genuine passion for energy, technology, and innovation
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure field environments
- Clear and confident communicator able to convey complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
