About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations efficiently
- Utilize GPS processes, drive zero losses, and uphold Glanbia non-negotiables
- Participate in or own Plant Pillars
- Perform the biannual PDP process and provide periodic performance feedback, including disciplinary and attendance matters, for direct reports
- Provide staff training
- Allocate and ship product through the SAP program
- Troubleshoot and repair warehouse equipment
- Ensure product is stored and shipped according to customer specifications
- Conduct bi-weekly safety and quality toolbox meetings
- Communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Plant Operations, and Management to meet customer needs
- Work with Sales and Logistics to generate on-time delivery reports
- Keep the warehouse audit ready
- Assist warehouse management with assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with current GMP standards
- Ensure inventory is correct and accurate
- Identify root causes of warehouse problems
- Assist with warehouse hiring
- Inspect loads at internal and external warehouses
- Attend training classes as needed
- Fulfill managerial duties in the absence of the Warehouse Manager
- Comply with occupational safety, health, and food safety regulations, including Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Administration, and Pasteurized Milk Ordinance requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to run or learn to run and troubleshoot all equipment in the Cheese Warehouse
- Excellent attendance and safety record
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- General understanding of export requirements and policies
- Leadership through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Understanding of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Loss Control, and Safety policies/practices
- Ability to calculate correct percentages of product types for product blends based on recipes/formulas
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Proficient personal computer skills, including email, record keeping, database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics
- Compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity and ability to judge distances and spatial relationships
- Minimal overnight travel, up to 10% by land and/or air
