About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Configure, modify, test, and maintain Epic and other clinical applications
- Build collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical department users, and corporate departments
- Handle complex build and configuration tasks and resolve advanced issues
- Provide support for reliable application availability and performance
- Design, verify, document, and refactor software configurations
- Investigate and resolve application issues
- Develop and execute test plans and evaluate design options
- Analyze and optimize clinical workflows with clinicians
- Gather requirements and feedback from physicians, nurses, IT staff, and other stakeholders
- Configure templates, order sets, and other Epic features
- Monitor system performance, manage upgrades, patch systems, and troubleshoot technical issues
- Provide technical support for Epic EHR issues
- Enforce HIPAA security protocols and monitor data privacy, user access control, and audit logging
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend Epic best practices
- Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Train clinical staff and provide ongoing user support
- Ensure Epic data accuracy and accessibility for clinical decision-making and regulatory reporting
- Develop and maintain reports tracking clinical outcomes, performance metrics, and patient care quality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Epic certification in at least one module or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Related Field (preferred)
- 1-3 years experience in clinical, operational, or financial workflows relevant to the supported module
- 1-3 years experience in healthcare IT or clinical operations
- Completion of an EPIC Assessment is required for application consideration
