About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and founders on high-stakes hardware decisions
- Lead discovery and strategy conversations with senior client stakeholders
- Reframe client challenges and recommend actionable paths forward
- Demonstrate why Kickmaker is the best partner when work is a fit
- Lead technical strategy discussions and challenge assumptions
- Shape and defend proposals covering architecture, make-vs-buy decisions, DFM, and industrialization trade-offs
- Own and grow Tier 0 strategic accounts across the product lifecycle from prototype through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production
- Generate new opportunities through Kickmaker’s network, industry events, and thought leadership
- Drive opportunities through to signature
- Guide engineering teams by setting technical direction, tracking delivery, and ensuring client success from kickoff to handover
- Partner with engineering and operations leads in the US and France on scoping and risk management
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years in hardware engineering (robotics)
- Deep NPI experience and products shipped from prototype to production
- Ability to debate design choices with senior client engineers and earn their trust
- Executive presence and ability to turn technical arguments into business decisions
- Experience with consultative, long-cycle B2B sales
- Excellent written and verbal English
- US-based
- Authorized to work in the US
- Ready to travel for clients
- Preferred: background at an engineering, deep-tech, or product development consultancy, or a hardware startup
- Preferred: strategic or commercial experience with grown accounts or closed deals
- Preferred: R&D background including patents, publications, or leading an advanced engineering lab
- Preferred: experience in manufacturing transfer and outsourced supply chains
- Preferred: strong network among US hardware, robotics, medtech, industrial, or consumer-electronics leaders
- Preferred: exposure to US deployment of French or European business
