About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work under the direction of the Command Center Supervisor
- Coordinate communication of remote telemetry with nursing units, ancillary departments, and physicians
- Distribute, monitor, validate, and document remote telemetries
- Identify patients and verify physician orders before interventions or care
- Perform computer operations essential to the electronic medical record and telemetry monitoring system
- Perform telephone, fax/copier, and nurse call system functions
- Document clinical data in required logs and post data into appropriate IT systems, including telemetry strips
- Understand and verify cardiac rhythms
- Communicate timely and effectively with nursing staff
- Elevate immediate patient issues to the supervisor or designee
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of rhythm analysis course and pass test within 6 months of hire
- Experience in the healthcare setting preferred
- Background in Medical Terminology preferred
- Ability to understand and verify cardiac rhythms
- Ability to perform computer operations for the electronic medical record and telemetry monitoring system
- Ability to use telephone functions, fax/copier, and nurse call systems
- Successful candidates might be required to undergo a background verification with an external vendor
