Key responsibilities & impact- Perform inspections on various facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry to identify and quantify hydrocarbon gas leaks and vents at offshore facilities
- Assist in coordinating and navigating to facilities using maps and GPS
- Help calibrate and maintain equipment
- Use detection and measurement technologies under Team Lead supervision
- Collect and record emission data
- Prepare field reports as required
- Participate in required safety training and assist with safety procedures, first aid, CPR, fire drills, and emergency evacuations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in Oil and Gas industry; natural gas processing/transmission facility experience preferred
- Effective computer skills; Excel and Microsoft Office are essential
- Proficiency with Android OS
- Experience leading a team preferred/required, depending on the position
- Must be able to communicate clearly and precisely
- Offshore and/or military experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or applicable technical degree/diploma preferred but not required
- Related work experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, offshore, instrumentation, stack emission testing, or mechanical work preferred but not required
- Willingness and ability to work on ocean/offshore sites for periods of up to 2–3 weeks at a time
- Must be clean-shaven where required for safety/PPE purposes
- Must successfully complete swing-rope certification
- Participation in required safety training, including first aid, CPR, fire drills, and emergency evacuations
- Ability to perform duties onshore and/or offshore, including transportation by company vehicle, helicopter, and/or boat
- Ability to work safely in extreme environments and open-ocean conditions
- Ability to safely ascend and descend structures up to approximately 200 feet
- Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, carry heavy equipment, work at heights, and potentially work in confined spaces
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
