About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Respond to feedback and direction from the Creative Director and Art Director
- Create original surface patterns using digital artistry and traditional techniques
- Explore the marketplace and curate inspiring mood boards
- Translate trends into cohesive product collection designs aligned with the brand identity
- Manage design projects from initial concepts through final production-ready artwork
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure accurate translation of designs into final products
- Maintain organized physical and digital workspaces
- Participate in daily check-ins to communicate progress and challenges
- Support teammates and enhance overall design output as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- BFA or BA in Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, or a related field
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in surface design, especially in stationery or similar product categories
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of design principles
- Knowledge of surface pattern repeats, composition, and color theory
- Versatility in artistic style and ability to explore various techniques and looks
- Ability to collaborate independently and adapt to feedback
- Keen market insight to identify trends and consumer needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Team player
- Ability to work irregular or extended hours, weekends, and holidays on occasion, particularly during peak seasons
- Ability to perform frequent sitting, standing and walking during trade shows and customer meetings, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
