About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver timely propulsion systems engineering support to Defense programs from proposal phases through development, certification, and in-service phases
- Apply engineering knowledge in Powerplant, APU, FIDEEX, Fuel, and FTIS to plan and develop missionized solutions
- Develop concept and trade studies, capture requirements, define scope of work, and engage suppliers during proposal phases
- Produce technical proposal materials and presentations, including supplier statements of work
- Support system integration, engineering documentation updates, supplier management, and governance during development and certification
- Review supplier documentation and verification plans
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders on technical engineering activities
- Participate in implementation of system installations, modifications, and operations
- Develop working relationships with departments within BA and with suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical
- Experience supporting the product development life cycle
- 5 years of experience in aircraft Propulsion systems (Powerplant, APU, FIDEEX, Fuel & FTIS)
- Familiarity with design, qualification, and certification test requirements of Propulsion systems
- Flexibility to travel and work outside normal hours
- Familiarity with Part 25 certification requirements and advisory material
- Strong integration skills in system partner management and system technical integration
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to work on ITAR-controlled projects
