About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate business and leadership insights into strategic, creative, and actionable communications plans
- Partner with client leads, executive communication leads, and business partners to understand priorities, initiatives, interdependencies, and leadership philosophy
- Translate insights into clear, comprehensive, and actionable briefs
- Activate Communications partners to compile comprehensive plans
- Oversee execution, timing, actions, quality, and timeliness of deliverables
- Track and report communications KPIs using measurement techniques
- Partner with agencies for outside counsel and expertise on communications plans and execution
- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including agencies
- Contribute to sustainable team operating cadences and communications operating routines
- Demonstrate behaviors aligned with Target’s values of Inclusivity, Connection, and Drive
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years of professional communications experience
- Strong team player, highly effective at collaborating and influencing internal partners, including senior leadership
- Strong business acumen
- Storytelling mindset
- Highly organized with ability to independently adapt, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks or projects amid changing, ambiguous, or competing priorities
- Ability to work autonomously and manage projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Ability to coordinate cross-functionally, manage scope and resources, develop goals and deadlines, and drive alignment between deliverables and strategic intent
