About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process
- Manage patient care from admission to discharge
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments
- Develop and coordinate individualized care and discharge plans
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Delegate appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels
- Document patient care
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and document education plans for patients and families
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Administer medications and perform treatments and therapies
- Operate equipment according to policy and procedure
- Assist physicians with treatments, procedures, and special tests
- Participate in Nursing Governance and performance improvement initiatives
- Support professional growth and staff education and development
- Comply with departmental policies, procedures, meetings, quality, and safety requirements
- Maintain respectful and professional interactions with employees, patients, and visitors
- Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Massachusetts licensure and registration
- Completion of an accredited school of nursing program
- Current BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held
- Any unit-specific certifications and competencies
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- Ability to work a night shift from 7pm-7am
- Every other holiday and every third weekend scheduling
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Compliance with departmental policies, procedures, health and safety regulations
- Work indoors in a normal patient care environment
- Medium physical work demands
