Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support investment modeling applications across services, web, infrastructure, back-end, and data layers
- Prototype new components and optimize existing systems for performance and maintainability
- Set technical direction for the team’s Python and dashboard stack
- Evaluate, standardize, and recommend libraries, frameworks, and tooling
- Lead design reviews and provide architectural guidance to other engineers
- Integrate AI-driven capabilities into investment applications to improve workflows and decision-making
- Partner with business analysts, QA engineers, and investment professionals through requirements, testing, and user acceptance
- Manage and communicate delivery timelines, provide status updates, and escalate risks
- Author and maintain technical design and support documentation
- Support production systems through data quality checks, alerting, and on-call participation
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar for Python/dashboard development
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience designing and developing durable and impactful software solutions
- Experience with JIRA, Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, AWS, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
- Hands-on GenAI development experience is a strong plus
- Proficiency in Python, pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy or similar ORM, and a plotting/visualization library such as Bokeh
- Ability to ramp up on internal Python dashboard and data-access libraries
- Experience providing technical leadership, leading architecture/design discussions, standardizing libraries/frameworks, or mentoring engineers
- Experience building and maintaining production front-end applications with React, HTML, and CSS
- Experience consuming GraphQL and/or REST APIs
- Experience writing SQL and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DocDB
- Experience working in a DevOps environment
- Experience with Agile methodologies and modern software development and testing practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and deliver in a fast-paced, business-critical environment
- Prior experience in the financial services or asset management industry
- BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
