About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as the designer on a product squad alongside a PM and engineers
- Own the design process end to end from shaping to shipping
- Design complete experiences from sketches to pixel-perfect interfaces
- Build designs in the codebase with AI and ship front-end changes without handoff
- Review code with AI tools and pair with engineers on code reviews and technical constraints
- Contribute patterns to a scalable product design system
- Provide AI with context, components and constraints to produce consistent product work
- Improve AI skills, rules and design-system context in the codebase
- Share effective AI practices with the team
- Observe teachers and students using the product in real classrooms
- Run user interviews and test working prototypes
- Use PostHog and session recordings to identify user friction
- Turn research insights into design principles and interface patterns
- Write clear interface copy and collaborate with the content team
- Design content-heavy educational interfaces
- Shape pitches with PMs and engineers and present work at the betting table
- Create materials for sales and customer success teams
- Mentor others in design thinking and user-centred approaches
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of product design experience
- Proven track record shipping successful B2B SaaS products
- Full-stack design skills, taking designs from concept to production
- Comfortable working in a codebase
- Experience using AI coding tools to build and ship front-end work
- AI-native workflow and day-to-day experience with AI design tools
- Strong visual and interaction design skills
- User research and testing experience
- Excellent writing skills for clear interface copy
- Systems thinking and experience maintaining scalable design systems
- Collaborative work with engineering, product and content teams
- Problem-solving skills
