About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Post payment exceptions from a worklist to appropriate charges in the accounts receivable system
- Resolve debit and credit balances
- Track and resolve forward balance transactions based on payer-specific processes
- Post payments to patient and insurance balances using PDF remittance advices and check details from the third-party banking system
- Review cash inquiries submitted by collections teams
- Update cash posting when necessary
- Provide detailed written responses regarding inquiry resolutions
- Submit refund requests when needed
- Research and respond to unapplied cash by telephone, internet, and in writing to insurance companies and governmental payers
- Work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ year Healthcare, Insurance, or banking related experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Must be able to commute to the Monroeville, PA office
- Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required
- Cash posting experience in a healthcare environment preferred
- Understanding of explanation of benefits preferred
- Customer service in a healthcare environment preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare reimbursement system preferred
- Effective customer service skills and experience demonstrating ability to work in a team environment preferred
- Attention to detail preferred
- Ability to utilize analytical skills preferred
- Ability to navigate multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize based on importance while displaying strong attention to detail preferred
- Ability to communicate with clientele professionally, both verbally and in writing, preferred
