About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee department billing services, including claims processing, claim edits, claim rejections, denials, and insurance collections
- Review revenue performance
- Manage staff responsible for billing and collections
- Ensure compliance with third-party regulations
- Improve key revenue-cycle performance indicators
- Maintain efficient day-to-day operational workflow for insurance accounts receivable management
- Implement and monitor productivity standards and work queue volumes
- Resolve problems and monitor KPIs
- Develop and monitor team action plans
- Ensure adherence to Dayton Children's policies and procedures
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to optimize revenue cycle management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required
- Associate degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in patient financial services or healthcare billing
- At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work tactfully with patients, staff, and interdepartmental customers
- Proficient in managing billing and collection processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
