About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies to optimize transportation and delivery processes
  • Lead strategic logistics initiatives supporting organizational goals
  • Adjust transportation modes and routing to improve load efficiency and achieve cost savings
  • Analyze and execute load building activities using internal TMS and other tools for inbound materials and outbound finished goods
  • Analyze industry trends, market conditions, and logistics data to make recommendations
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, customers, and third-party logistics partners
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to logistics teams
  • Drive carrier selection compliance and lead improvement initiatives
  • Develop and present performance reports to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, safety protocols, and other regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a logistics execution subject matter expert across multiple transit modes
  • Coach and mentor logistics planners or analysts as a superuser
  • Ensure accurate and compliant logistics documentation
  • Determine employee MBO goals and provide development plans and performance feedback
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-7 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
  • Expert level knowledge of logistics software, analytics tools, and industry best practices
  • Detailed knowledge of multiple transit modes, domestic and international
  • Expert level knowledge of TMS, such as Oracle or SAP
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Excel, Access, Python, R, or similar data analysis tools
  • Proven leadership experience, with ability to manage and mentor teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • 5-10% travel required
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field, or additional years of professional and/or military experience in accordance with applicable law
  • Master’s or advanced degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field from an accredited institution preferred
