About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver physical therapy services under the treatment plan established by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Help patients improve strength, balance, mobility, and function to support greater independence
- Monitor progress and promptly communicate changes in condition or concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Teach patients and caregivers exercises and techniques that support continued progress at home
- Provide instruction on the safe use of canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics
- Deliver safe, high-quality care to patients in their homes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current, unrestricted Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Six months or more of PTA experience preferred
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including assisting with patient positioning, transfers, and equipment
- Reliable transportation between patient homes and assigned work locations
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required if driving
- Compliance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines
