About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across company and holding company accounting, development and construction costs, capitalization and fixed assets, intercompany transactions, debt and financing, derivatives, leases, asset retirement obligations, tax credits, and other corporate accounting activities.
- Oversee statutory financial statements and US financial reporting packages for Greenvolt Power’s US entities, supporting group consolidation.
- Manage the financial close calendar and reporting deadlines.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial documentation.
- Develop and maintain internal accounting controls, approval procedures, and documentation standards.
- Identify and resolve accounting, financial reporting, and internal control deficiencies; drive process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with US accounting standards, regulations, group accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
- Lead implementation and optimization of accounting and financial systems, including SAP.
- Coordinate external audits and maintain auditor relationships.
- Lead and coordinate a team of 4–5 internal and outsourced accounting professionals.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and accountants on federal, state, and local tax provisions, returns, and regulatory filings.
- Review tax deliverables and support tax audits and governmental inquiries.
- Collaborate with Finance and partner with the Head of Finance on accounting, reporting, controls, systems, and finance initiatives.
- Improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls across the US organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing a close and reporting process.
- Renewable-energy, infrastructure, power, or project-company accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS experience is a plus.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and statutory reporting.
- Experience managing external auditors, tax advisers, and outsourced accounting providers.
- SAP experience, including implementation or migration experience, preferred.
- Big Four or comparable public-accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting and consolidation systems.
- Strong team-management, analytical, organizational, and project-management skills.
