Key responsibilities & impact- Manage implementation, maintenance, and critical review and analysis of models, studies, and systems using actuarial principles
- Apply actuarial functions including pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, and forecasting
- Develop complicated models and teach others how to develop models
- Develop written and oral presentations to support decision-making
- Manage day-to-day projects, including projects involving non-actuarial departments
- Demonstrate deep understanding of one actuarial area or business segment
- Facilitate training and development and participate in presentations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics; other Bachelor or higher degrees may be considered
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
- Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
- Compliance with membership requirements for each professional designation
- At least 4 years of actuarial experience in the health insurance or related field
- Verbal and written communication skills
- PC proficiency, including Word and Excel
- Sponsorship is not available
- Commercial/IFM experience preferred
- Value Based Care experience a plus
- Health insurance/managed care experience preferred
- SQL experience preferred
- SAS, R, or other programming experience
- Strong analytical and data modeling skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Experience analyzing large healthcare datasets
