Key responsibilities & impact- Direct the activities of the Machine Support group
- Maintain production schedules and ensure group quality standards are met
- Recruit, interview, and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Techs, WAVE Techs, and Machine Support Techs
- Communicate candidate criteria to recruiters and coach staff in interviewing and hiring
- Monitor team member turnover and implement improvements
- Identify team strengths and development needs
- Create or validate training curricula
- Coach and mentor tooling department staff
- Create and manage succession plans for the machine shop function
- Establish measurable individual and team goals and objectives
- Solicit feedback and provide ongoing coaching and counseling
- Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time
- Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics and organizational goals
- Coordinate large teams during crises
- Provide forums for departmental idea and information exchange
- Oversee maintenance management, including repair parts, preventive maintenance, feeder maintenance, and support equipment maintenance
- Plan technical staff activities
- Develop and maintain department reports and records
- Supervise line moves and builds
- Schedule equipment vendors for installation, repair, and updates
- Improve procedures and work instructions
- Identify and implement best-in-field practices and processes

- Utilize Jabil’s Advanced Engineering group for support to Jabil South
- Establish new measurement systems where possible
- Follow applicable safety, health, and security procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- Three years’ experience in maintenance management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) and Thru-hole equipment/gear
- Knowledge of process optimization
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability
- Knowledge of Design for Test
- Knowledge of Demand Flow Technology (line balancing)
- Knowledge of Design of Experiment methodologies
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines including chemistry, mechanical, electrical, and industrial as they pertain to surface mount and final assembly
- Ability to adhere to safety and health rules and regulations
- Ability to comply with company security policy
