About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight of Pharmacovigilance contractual relationships and alliance partnerships
Lead and develop the team responsible for alliance contracting, partnership management, governance, compliance, and operational excellence
Lead the strategy, negotiation, and execution of global and local Pharmacovigilance Agreements

Identify, assess, and manage PV Agreement and alliance-related risks
Partner across Johnson & Johnson organizations, alliance partners, and third-party teams to align pharmacovigilance activities with agreement obligations
Build internal and external partnerships to resolve complex challenges and optimize alliance performance
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and digital transformation across PV alliance contracting processes and tools, including AI-enabled solutions
Establish performance measures and oversight mechanisms for alliance health, contractual compliance, and operational effectiveness
Champion accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
Advanced degree (Master's, PhD, MD, PharmD) is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of related experience, including 8 years within a drug safety environment with Pharmacovigilance operational responsibilities
Deep knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations, industry standards, and PV alliance governance
Proven people leadership experience, including talent development, coaching, performance management, and fostering high-performing teams
Ability to lead through influence in a matrix environment and build effective partnerships across global, cross-functional, and external stakeholders
Ability to negotiate Pharmacovigilance Agreements and safety-related contractual terms
Experience leading strategic alliances, business partnerships, or governance activities within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry
Proven success establishing governance structures, managing executive-level stakeholder relationships, and driving performance across strategic partnerships
Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence
Digital fluency, including approved productivity, collaboration, AI-enabled, and emerging technology tools
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
