About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and make necessary adjustments ahead of month-end close
- Support and help lead the month-end close process
- Perform or oversee fixed asset accounting, accounts payable and payroll accounting
- Prepare project financial status reports for leadership and Project Managers
- Identify, research, and resolve accounting issues; trace discrepancies and maintain supporting documentation
- Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures
- Perform complex calculations and analysis in Excel
- Protect confidential financial information
- Support special projects to help the Finance team run efficiently
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4+ years of accounting experience, including in a government contracting environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP
- Extensive knowledge of FAR
- Experience with government contract accounting systems such as Unanet or Deltek (GCS Premier or Costpoint)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, professional and able to work independently
- CPA certification preferred
- Experience with Unanet and ADP preferred
