About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and supervise day-to-day evaluation, replenishment, and accuracy of materials inventory according to site and Corporate policies
- Lead five direct-report employees and provide leadership to eight to ten indirect personnel
- Oversee warehouse operations and inventory management activities
- Assist in managing the warehouse cost center, resource utilization, cost control, and operational efficiency
- Lead material strategy discussions and coordinate requirements with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and other plant disciplines
- Evaluate inventory to identify obsolete materials and replacement or optimization opportunities
- Manage warehouse reliability improvements and identify, inspect, and classify critical spare parts through the Annual Capital Review program
- Optimize inventory levels while ensuring operational reliability
- Ensure compliance with physical inventory requirements, Materials Inventory Policies, and company procedures
- Support Material Coordinators in securing tools, materials, and services for high-priority and emergency work
- Coordinate with Procurement to track and expedite critical material requirements
- Oversee procurement of stock materials using MRP processes
- Lead identification, tracking, and repair of inventory items to OEM standards
- Oversee material master requests through Material Data Governance (MDG)
- Ensure daily receiving, kitting, staging, and delivery of materials according to schedules and MOWP processes
- Manage off-site inventory storage locations and material controls
- Oversee kitting, staging, and zone storage supporting Operations and Maintenance
- Manage the material repair process
- Serve as plant subject matter expert for SAP MM and liaison to Corporate Materials Management
- Manage inventory control and infrastructure for the main warehouse and two satellite storage facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in maintenance functions in a petrochemical, refining, or similar industrial facility; or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a petrochemical, refining, or similar industrial facility
- Knowledge of Materials Inventory Industry Best Practices, Vendor Stocking, and Supply Chain Management
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of SAP is required
- Super User knowledge in the MM module of SAP is preferred
- Excellent management and interaction skills to manage daily operations and customer relations
- Experience working with cross functional teams
- Must be at least 18 years old
