Key responsibilities & impact- Embed with IT portfolio teams and deliver hands-on outcomes from discovery through production
- Apply the AI platform across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, code generation and review, test automation, CI/CD, release, legacy modernization, and production support
- Build agentic workflows, toolchain integrations, evaluation harnesses, and automation
- Package successful solutions into reusable accelerators, playbooks, and reference implementations
- Embed security and responsible AI through threat modeling, secure pipelines, access and secrets management, software supply chain integrity, audit logging, and human-in-the-loop controls
- Translate governance and compliance requirements into practical controls
- Define AI-enabled engineering strategy, prioritize opportunities, and create sequenced roadmaps with business cases
- Establish build and run efficiency baselines, track adoption and return, and report outcomes to senior IT leadership
- Serve as senior technical escalation point for complex adoption and integration challenges
- Run design reviews, provide technical feedback, and pair with engineers on complex problems
- Translate field learnings into platform capability requests, ADRs, and design input
- Drive adoption with directors and engineering leaders and communicate technical trade-offs to technical and executive audiences
- Mentor leads and senior engineers, run enablement and communities of practice, and raise standards without direct people management
Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years total experience in software engineering, DevOps/platform engineering, SRE, security engineering, or solutions engineering
- 5+ years at lead, staff, or principal level with multi-team or enterprise-wide technical scope
- Proven record of delivering measurable build and run efficiency gains in large, complex IT environments
- Forward-deployed or customer-facing engineering experience
- Hands-on experience applying LLMs and agentic AI to software delivery and operations
- Experience with prompt and context engineering, evaluation, and integration with enterprise APIs
- Strong DevSecOps and SDLC fluency, including CI/CD, IaC, GitOps, automated testing, observability, incident and change management, and secure-by-design practices
- Working knowledge of cloud-native architecture and AI infrastructure, including containers, Kubernetes, managed cloud and AI services, model APIs and gateways, identity, and networking
- Experience designing security and governance controls for AI or data-sensitive systems in a regulated environment
- Ability to balance portfolio-level strategy with hands-on building, debugging, and shipping
- Strong written and verbal communication, including design docs, ADRs, and executive-level presentations
- Relevant certifications and open-source contributions, publications, or conference talks are ideal qualifications
