Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build high-throughput services for upload/ingest, processing, indexing, retrieval, and access control
- Build APIs and internal primitives for research, labeling, QA, and model training datasets
- Own service quality end-to-end, including correctness, latency, uptime, capacity planning, and cost
- Build observability through metrics, logs, and tracing
- Handle incident response and develop operational tooling to prevent recurring failures
- Build systems coordinating large jobs across cloud infrastructure and GPU fleets
- Improve reliability and speed of data movement, including storage I/O, network throughput, queuing, retries, idempotency, and backpressure
- Own architecture and reliability for production services operating at extreme scale
- Collaborate across product, operations, and research
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of backend/software engineering experience, or equivalent impact
- Strong system design fundamentals
- Proven experience operating production systems
- Excellent debugging and operational judgment
- Experience building backend systems for video/media at scale, including streaming, transcoding, processing, storage, CDN/edge, ingestion, or metadata/search
- Experience with high-volume data processing, distributed compute, cloud networking, or video/media infrastructure
- Experience using AI coding tools as a core part of software development workflows, including generating and reviewing code, debugging, testing, and parallelizing development tasks
- Ability to work with petabyte-scale video and sensor data
- Experience with heavy cloud networking, distributed GPU compute, large-scale video pipelines, storage I/O, network throughput, queuing, retries, idempotency, and backpressure
- Ability to produce maintainable systems with clear documentation and strong ownership
- Work authorization for the location where the role is posted
