About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist nursing staff in providing excellent, effective, and safe patient care
- Provide patient personal care, bathing, and personal hygiene
- Participate in admission, dismissal, and transfer processes
- Contribute to permanent documentation of patient data
- Complete constant observer or telesitter functions where applicable
- Monitor patients at bedside and/or remotely via audio/visual technology while maintaining privacy and dignity
- Complete patient care and documentation accurately and promptly according to policies, procedures, and regulations
- Participate in meetings and training
- Contribute input to the multidisciplinary patient care planning process
- Assess and provide direct resident care and supervised personal/rehabilitative care according to individualized care plans
- Report safety concerns, abnormal parameters, or patient health concerns to the nurse
- Encourage patients to participate in activities of daily living and their plan of care
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department
- Very Heavy work capability: exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly and/or more than 50 pounds frequently and/or more than 100 pounds occasionally or seldomly
- Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances
- Preferred: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
- Preferred: Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Preferred: 1+ years of related experience
