About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance for guestrooms, public areas, and operational facilities
- Address HVAC performance, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and finishes with minimal guest disruption
- Identify emerging issues and recommend proactive repairs
- Maintain lighting, climate control, and aesthetic standards in hotel common areas and facilities
- Support event setups and breakdowns by ensuring power, climate, and equipment functionality
- Conduct routine inspections for safety or appearance deficiencies
- Maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Assist with kitchen, laundry, and support equipment maintenance
- Participate in life-safety system testing and documentation
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs as directed
- Execute preventive-maintenance schedules and close work orders accurately
- Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations
- Follow hotel standards, safety protocols, and sustainability practices
- Perform other duties assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or trade school coursework preferred
- 3–6 years of experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related technical field
- Experience in a full-service hotel or similar commercial environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance and independent repairs across multiple trades
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and controls
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, lighting, and outlets
- Working knowledge of plumbing fixtures and piping
- Basic life-safety systems knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex maintenance issues independently
- Proficient in work order management systems and basic computer use
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, climb, lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and copier
- Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
