About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide therapeutic nursing interventions under RN supervision and direction for daily care, tube feeds, dressing changes, and other clinical needs
- Administer medications upon completion of the medication course
- Document care using the EPIC system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including registered nurses, medical social work, care managers, nutrition, rehabilitation services, spiritual care, and pharmacy
- Ensure quality nursing care in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and nursing and clinical service standards
- Provide direct care to patients and families using the Nursing Process
- Participate in orientation and continuing education
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nursing
- Current licensure in the State of New York
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Participation in orientation and continuing education
- Maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
- Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, and reach
