About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage operational performance of tools and field engineers’ activities across the designated territory
- Exceed project managers’ and service coordinators’ delivery expectations
- Represent the company professionally, ethically, and in accordance with its code of conduct
- Achieve financial, commercial, OHS, and environmental targets
- Troubleshoot complex marine VFD and drive-system issues
- Lead investigations and support customers in improving equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Assign work to service engineering personnel and delegate qualified staff to service and troubleshooting jobs
- Monitor employee working hours within approved guidelines
- Manage staffing, interviewing, hiring, training, retention, succession planning, coaching, and development of service engineers
- Develop processes and practices based on customer feedback and Net Promoter Score
- Allocate, drive, and monitor work according to order content, delivery time, competencies, and workload
- Manage and develop a team of service professionals
- Report to the Service Operations Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Marine Service industry
- 8 or more years of experience preferred
- Service experience in sales, project management, service coordination, or service engineering in the Cruise and offshore industry
- Service experience in ABB Marine & Ports services and products preferred
- Prior Team Lead experience highly desirable, but not required
- Must already have work authorization permitting employment with ABB in the United States
