Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a team of software engineers across time zones through one-on-ones, feedback, growth plans and performance conversations
- Hire for the team and shape the hiring bar with the Head of Engineering
- Make quality the whole team’s job through teaching reviews, meaningful tests and production monitoring
- Own the team’s delivery from problem to production, including planning, estimation, risk and release readiness
- Partner with product management to shape work before development begins
- Lead incident response for the team’s systems and improve platform safety after incidents
- Ship code yourself every week, including features, fixes and tooling improvements, using coding agents
- Review pull requests and teach through them while maintaining quality standards for AI-drafted work
- Stay current on AI engineering practices, test tools and workflows, and roll out effective approaches across the organization
- Grow engineers who will lead after you
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years building production software, including 3+ years managing software engineers directly, with responsibility for hiring and performance
- You still write and ship production code as a manager, with C# and .NET experience
- Angular, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and AWS are a strong plus
- Daily use of coding agents in your own engineering work, and experience rolling AI engineering practices out to a team
- Experience with teams that built or operated systems under HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2 or comparable regulation
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones
- Written and spoken communication that works across time zones and with colleagues whose first language is not English
- Candidates must have current and valid authorization to work in the country where they are applying
