Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the architect and administrator for the core engineering suite, including Solidworks, PDM, PLM (Arena), and Jira, supporting hardware R&D and Manufacturing Teams
- Create and maintain custom workflows, automations, and templates
- Gather team feedback and implement engineering software best practices
- Troubleshoot error messages, vault access issues, and software bugs for the mechanical engineering team
- Enforce and improve documentation standards for file naming, revision control, and BOM management within the PLM system
- Perform regular software system maintenance and test new versions and features with team workflows and automations
- Manage permissions and onboarding/offboarding for hardware engineering users across software platforms
- Co-own vendor relationships with Wonder's IT Procurement team for software licenses and renewals
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience administering CAD (Solidworks strongly preferred), PDM, and PLM software for an engineering team
- Proven experience configuring PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Arena, Propel)
- Proven experience with JIRA, creating custom automations and workflows
- Familiarity with all lifecycle phases of hardware product development, from Prototyping to Production
- Deep familiarity with the mechanical design process and its terminology
- Understanding of Parts and Assemblies, 3D and 2D CAD, and ancillary Supporting Documentation within PDM and PLM databases
- A "support-first" mindset with the ability to calmly troubleshoot technical issues under tight project deadlines
- Strong ability to create "How-To" guides and training materials for engineers
- Ability to translate an engineer's ideal workflow into a real-world process within the relevant software product
- Bonus - familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) implementation
- Minimum 3 days a week in the office, with additional days as needed based on project demands
