About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Obtain prior authorization from payers for inpatient and outpatient services provided by UW Health
- Demonstrate skilled communication and troubleshooting techniques
- Provide excellent customer service
- Anticipate and respond to a wide variety of issues and concerns
- Execute tasks efficiently and effectively
- Complete onsite training for up to 8 weeks before transitioning to a primarily remote schedule
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1 year of experience in healthcare, business, finance, or insurance related field required
- 1 year of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle that includes prior authorization preferred
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding highly desired
- Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payer regulations and guidelines highly desired
- Knowledge of Epic Software, Rfax, and Calabrio Call System preferred
- Experience with payment collections preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, Health Information Management, or a related field preferred
- Training is required onsite at 7974 UW Health Ct. in Middleton, WI for up to 8 weeks
- Ability to work Monday–Friday schedules, including 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. during training and primarily 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. after training
