About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and maintain backend services in Python (Flask) powering the TimeKeeper platform
  • Develop and improve APIs, data models and Postgres queries, focusing on reliability and performance
  • Shape features based on customer and team feedback
  • Deliver features alongside web and mobile teams
  • Write automated tests, investigate issues and fix bugs
  • Review pull requests and share knowledge with the wider team
  • Contribute to infrastructure and deployment work across AWS, Terraform and Redis
  • Prioritise and manage multiple tasks, delivering on time
  • Build strong working relationships and contribute positively to the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong backend focus
  • Professional experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs in Python
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience writing automated tests and reviewing code
  • Comfortable working alongside AI tools
  • Experience with Python frameworks and libraries such as Flask, Django or SQLAlchemy
  • Relevant AWS infrastructure experience, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Experience with Postgres and Redis in production
  • Familiarity with React or React Native, enough to work effectively with front-end colleagues
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is nice to have
  • Proactive and able to pick up new tools and topics quickly
