About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review clinical documentation to code and post-surgery and hospital charges for insurance billing
- Assist with CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Maintain communication with the Team Lead and/or Supervisor
- Maintain patient information according to confidentiality policy
- Maintain compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements
- Complete mandated training and in-services, including annual OSHA training and PPD placements
- Work Accounts Receivable (AR) for ASC
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of AR, denial management and CPT/ICD10 coding
- Minimum of three (3) years of related AR experience
- Preferably one year of working with ASC claims
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years related AR or medical billing experience is required
- Thorough knowledge of computer information systems
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to comply with governmental and regulatory requirements
- Ability to complete mandated training and in-services, including annual OSHA training and PPD placements
- Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including lifting up to 25 pounds
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, with possible out-of-area and overnight travel
