About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage daily pharmacy operations in a Telepharmacy Remote Dispensing Pharmacy under oversight from a separate Supervising Pharmacy
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
- Operate the pharmacy safely and securely as a keyholder, maintaining alarm and safe codes and protecting pharmacy products
- Fulfill prescriptions accurately, including controlled-substance counting, image capture, inventory maintenance, and additional CII fulfillment
- Serve patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and by phone with empathy and personalized care
- Offer immunizations and other services and solve or escalate patient problems
- Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Communicate with the Supervising Pharmacy/Pharmacist and Telepharmacy Tech Team Leader
- Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed
- Mentor and support onboarding, training, and development of new Telepharmacy hires
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Deliver additional healthcare services when the pharmacist is on-site, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where permitted
- Where permissible, obtain Technician Immunizer status and prepare/administer vaccines
- Educate patients about vaccines, monitor adverse reactions, document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies
- Perform additional tasks as directed by a supervisor or manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state minimum age is mandated, must be at least 18 years old
- If no state minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- State-level licensure requirements vary by state
- 1+ years full-time experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Customer service and team orientation
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing calculations
- Problem resolution and action-planning abilities
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; stoop; and perform repetitive hand movements
- Close visual acuity for transcription, computer-terminal viewing, and small-part inspection
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. and frequently lift up to 10 lbs.
