Key responsibilities & impact- Build and strengthen the platform supporting feature teams
- Work with the engineering manager to identify and plan projects
- Execute platform projects using agentic engineering methods
- Migrate the data layer onto RDS
- Improve platform security and compliance across the multi-account AWS organization
- Standardize and optimize platform logging for AI-supported troubleshooting
- Implement processes and infrastructure for AI agents to autonomously open pull requests resolving dependency vulnerabilities and other issues
- Deliver migration, security, and compliance work for data stores, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Assist feature teams with data and security requests
- Review and test teammates' work and review other engineers' code
- Partner with feature teams and stakeholders to shape future platform capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Production experience building backend services and APIs using an object-oriented programming language
- Strong data and architecture skills
- Current best practices in data modeling and system architecture
- Experience securing platform-layer components, including data stores, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Knowledge of access control, encryption, and audit logging best practices
- Hands-on experience building and operating production infrastructure
- Experience with infrastructure as code using CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in a healthcare setting or another heavily regulated domain is nice to have
- Experience building and using custom agents is nice to have
- Experience with TypeScript, AWS, serverless functions, and PostgreSQL is nice to have
