About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the Operations team through four Operations Managers and around 35 people
- Build the Operations operating system, including visibility, processes, performance measures and management routines
- Transform operations by simplifying and standardising processes, reducing manual work, and using technology and AI
- Own booking fulfilment and operational performance for accommodation, luggage transfers and other trip components
- Ensure trips are confirmed quickly, accurately and reliably with appropriate capacity, resources and controls
- Partner with Supplier Partnerships, Product and Customer Service to improve delivery and bookability
- Contribute to Delivery strategy, business planning and the evolution of the Tribes & Squads operating model
- Report to the Chief Delivery Officer
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong track record leading multi-team operations through managers in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Experience with high-volume and time-critical delivery operations
- Proven experience redesigning and improving operational processes with measurable gains in efficiency, productivity, speed and quality
- Ability to create processes, performance measures, reporting and management routines
- Technology and AI mindset, including practical operational automation and technology improvements
- Strong operational and commercial judgment
- Experience managing budgets, resource planning, fluctuating demand and operational risk
- Ability to build capable managers, assign ownership, set high standards and manage performance challenges
- Ability to collaborate across functions and influence business decisions
- Travel industry operations experience, particularly booking accommodation or other travel components, is a bonus
- Experience redesigning supply-chain or supplier processes is a bonus
- Hands-on AI or automation implementation experience is a bonus
- Exposure to matrix or cross-functional team models is a bonus
- Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous-improvement methodology is a bonus
