Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own features end to end from conception through production
  • Work across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems
  • Build backend and infrastructure systems, user interfaces when needed, and connectors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Track record of shipping products, internal tools, open-source projects, or serious side projects to real users
  • Strong fundamentals and ability to learn quickly
  • Product-focused mindset prioritizing customer needs over technical purity
  • Infrastructure awareness, including blast radius and trust boundaries
  • Ability to read unfamiliar code, reason from first principles, and explain tradeoffs
  • Comfort across TypeScript, Python, and CockroachDB, or ability to learn new languages, protocols, and domains quickly
  • Interest and experience building with AI agents
  • Already builds with AI daily and wants to work without heavy process
  • Bachelor's/college degree is asked about in the application form, but the job description does not state it as a requirement
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment in San Mateo or San Francisco offices 3x a week is required by the application question
  • Nice to have: developer-facing products, protocol or gateway work, infrastructure at scale, security/identity/permission systems, open-source/MCP/agentic framework contributions, and design sensibility
