About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in monthly engagement seminars
  • Complete Raytheon-required training
  • Participate in security clearance activities
  • Meet with a mentor
  • Spend 2–4 hours per month supporting co-op activities
  • Upon graduation and clearance approval, transition to a full-time onsite position in Richardson, Texas
  • After conversion, support the design, development, and maintenance of systems supporting customer missions
  • Learn customer mission concepts and technologies
  • Learn systems engineering concepts related to requirements, architecture, design, and testing
  • Learn software engineering approaches, artificial intelligence, and agile development techniques
  • Learn continuous integration and continuous delivery infrastructure basics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a Senior or Post-Graduate with graduation/completion of studies in December 2027 in Computer Science or related STEM major
  • Minimum of 90 credit hours by the start of the internship/co-op session
  • Experience developing object-oriented software using Java in a Linux environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot software errors and provide fixes in a modern IDE such as Eclipse or VSCode
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
  • Preferred: Experience with Agile development
  • Preferred: Experience with Python, C++, or Javascript
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS Cloud applications
  • Preferred: Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications
  • Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
