About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures
- Monitor and evaluate patient functional status in a virtual environment
- Perform admissions, discharges, chart reviews, and other patient care duties via a secure link to patient rooms
- Utilize the nursing process to care for patients and document each step
- Facilitate patient discharge through timely referrals and patient education resources
- Collaborate with other disciplines and healthcare professionals
- Support unit and hospital goals through performance-improvement and educational activities
- Prevent patient problems through telemedicine observation, surveillance of adverse physiological trends, prophylactic strategies, and medical chart review
- Virtually evaluate patients, educate patients and families, and re-evaluate patients as appropriate
- Perform clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator responsibilities during virtual appointments
- Coach and mentor floor nurses regarding patient care
- Maintain knowledge of changing technology and equipment used in patient care
- Coordinate activities and lead others in the same work without supervisory responsibility
- Work with patients, internal and external customers, healthcare professionals, staff, and Director-level personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years bedside experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of registered nurse experience in acute care setting
- Completion of the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing approved and verified by a state board of nursing, with a diploma or degree
- Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License
- Demonstrated ability to use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making
- Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways
- Ability to receive and understand information relayed through oral or electronic communication
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently
- Detail orientation in examining clinical and numerical data
- Comfort and familiarity with tele/virtual monitoring equipment
- High degree of professional competence and autonomy
- Must meet and maintain Clinical Nurse II requirements pursuant to the Saint Francis Hospital Clinical Ladder for Registered Nurses
- Safety-sensitive position; subject to applicable marijuana testing and employment rules under OMMA
