About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Originate mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory
Take mortgage loan applications
Conduct preliminary underwriting reviews
Submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval
Follow up to secure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing
Make and solicit loan sales

Requirements

What you’ll need

National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
Ongoing compliance with all legal or regulatory registration requirements
Maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record
High school diploma or equivalent
One or more years of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience
Ability to travel
Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies
Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors
Basic knowledge of local, state and national laws
Ability to work independently
Ability to analyze financial information
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Established referral base within assigned market preferred
2+ years of proven success in mortgage loan origination, consistently meeting or exceeding production goals
