About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform moderately complex professional accounting work in recording and reporting financial transactions
- Ensure timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity
- Prepare work papers, financial statements, and reports for internal accounting and auditing
- Research and analyze fluctuations between current financial results and prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts
- Work with independent and inter-company auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements
- Create and disseminate quarterly and annual statements, including conversion from GAAP accounting to statutory accounting
- Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures
- Assist business partners with budget activity, expenditure coding, document preparation, and other accounting-related activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in an accounting environment
- 2+ years using accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP and statutory accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in spreadsheet applications
- Clean credit history as reported by credit report
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
- For remote roles, high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings
- Must comply with pre-employment substance abuse testing
