About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support growth and strategic priorities for Commercial Banking
- Translate strategic priorities into operating model and execution improvements
- Partner with executive management within Commercial Banking and across Wells Fargo to define business strategy and develop business plans and initiative roadmaps
- Participate in and potentially lead initiatives with broad impact and senior-leader visibility
- Establish governance, workplans, milestones, and success metrics
- Structure and solve complex, ambiguous problems using hypotheses, analyses, and decision points
- Evaluate strategic business opportunities, investment needs, and partnership opportunities
- Synthesize market, competitive, and internal performance insights
- Create executive-ready PowerPoint communications and written narratives
- Turn analysis into crisp recommendations and “so what” implications
- Identify and communicate opportunities, insights, and solutions
- Collaborate across levels to resolve issues and unblock progress
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or in an in-house strategy, corporate strategy, or CEO office role with comparable analytical rigor
- Knowledge of or experience in financial services, particularly commercial banking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to synthesize market trends, financial information, and operating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong PowerPoint, executive storytelling, and presentation capabilities
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Ability to lead working sessions, collaborate across functions, and influence without direct authority
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
- Ability to independently manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline such as Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- Ability to work at one of the locations in the job posting
