Key responsibilities & impact- Help Department of Veterans Affairs clients maximize the value of data and automate business processes
- Implement data querying, data wrangling, data visualization, dashboarding, predictive analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, and application development
- Research and apply data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform healthcare business decisions
- Conduct economic modeling, statistical analysis, and market surveys
- Develop tools, techniques, and theories to support ongoing client research
- Use predictive and prescriptive analytics to forecast outcomes using probabilities and confidence levels
- Support client services, business development, internal firm initiatives, and professional development
- Develop governed analytics and data applications in Azure Databricks
- Use Unity Catalog for data and AI governance, Databricks Apps for application delivery, and Azure commercial cloud services for scalable solution development and deployment
- Potentially develop methodologies and analyze health plan and provider operations
- Contribute to RFP/RFQ responses, white papers, concept papers, and prototype solutions for customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
- Minimum of FOUR (4) years of professional work experience
- Prior consulting experience or work similar to consulting is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, or PySpark
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks and its major components, including Unity Catalog, Databricks Apps, and the Azure commercial cloud environment
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Up to 10% travel required
- Current PIV and ePAS form to access common VA data systems is nice to have
- Knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Veterans Health Administration environment is nice to have
- Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, or PySpark is nice to have
- Excellent oral and written communication skills is nice to have
