About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Use coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies, including Medicaid
- Work directly with insurance companies, providers, and patients to get claims processed and paid
- Communicate clearly with employees, clients, and insurance companies
- Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims
- Verify patients’ insurance coverage
- Act as liaison between insurance companies and clients
- Handle collections of unpaid accounts
- Generate Accounts Receivable reports
- Report directly to the Director of Finance and the CEO
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior medical billing experience required
- ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) billing experience preferred
- Organized
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Efficient
- Self-motivated and independent
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Critical thinker able to problem solve
- Knowledge of accounting billing systems and general search engine skills
- Computer-intensive work capability
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, required
- Experience with medical insurance billing
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with the finance team and other staff
